God's with us in our ups and downs
Yes…...."Life is just like a roller coaster ride, with a lot of ups and downs!!…...However, with God's promises, all of His faithful children have "peace and joy" in their heart." Thanks to all my friends and family for sending encouraging messages and prayers for Cass and my family. Even within the same day…....we were experiencing the ups and downs of Cass' health situation. My heart is very heavy and aching so much when I see Cass struggling with her pain, and having so much trouble just to stand up straight even with our assistance. I also feel the pain when she is still so considering our feeling and trying to ease the stress on us while she is so sick; she is always so sweet and happy for every little things so long as she is awake and not in pain! When she mentioned she was thankful for her days each day and for the people around her, I couldn’t hold back my tears but had to leave her room as soon as we finished the bed time prayers! After all, I should be thankful for Cass' courage and thoughtfulness. They are all from Above.
We are busy with setting up a better environment for Cass to stay at home. Nurses’ visit, telephone calls from the hospital and all the delivery for her medication and equipment have stressed me quite a bit! The pain was still bothering Cass, but it is now under better control since the Practitioner Nurses came yesterday to adjust the medication dosage for her again. Cass seemed to have a better day today (Thursday Nov. 6). She had a chance to spend some time with her EEs today before they flew back to Hong Kong right afterwards. Before they left, they had many many hugs with Cass. Cass did not have too much time to spend with these two EEs, from Hong Kong, for their visit to Toronto this time as Cass was sick all last week. Cass prays that they have a safe flight home and hopes to see them soon again!
Since Cass needs so much support and her condition fluctuates a lot, Andy has to be home with us to help take care of Cass as I am unable to carry her up and down the stairs at all. The hospital had arranged a visit to Emily's House for us next week.
I would also like to take this opportunity to send our sincere “thanks” to Karen William, a coach in swimming who had met Cass in the Para Swim Meets in Edmonton and other places. Thanks for sending card with some encouraging words from her every week. The card always came in the right time….. the time when Cass needed cheer up and encouragement. I love to watch her smile when she was reading the cards. Thank you for making her a sweet smile on her bad day.
We are so blessed as we are surrounded by a lot of loving individuals who show their unconditional support to us. While I was writing the update, auntie Jenny showed up at our door with a lovely cake and cupcakes. What a surprise late night dessert even though Cass could only have just some little bite………...
After all, we need your continual prayer support to help us to proceed on. Pray that we can gain strength from our Lord every day. God's mercy be on Cass.
