By the request and suggestion of some concerned brothers and sisters, due to the reason that some of those who are diligently praying for Cassidy and her family are from all around the world and may not know our circle of friends personally, the regular Blog posting may confused them because Dr. Jesse would sometimes refer to people by the names known to local circle only. Therefore, this new Prayer page is made for those who would like to just see the updated prayer needs of the Sheng Family so they can pray more specific prayers for them. So feel free to pass this site onto more prayer buddies to effect a greater prayer power. Thus the name of this new site http://PowerPray.blogspot.com

Pray for an effective radiation for Cass tomorrow at 3pm.‏

We went to PMH in the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 11, to see the Radiation Oncologist so as to find out if there was a way to reduce Cass’ continuous sharp pain at her back. The oncologist and his team carefully went over Cass’ images from all of the MRI’s and C.T. scans that she had taken recently. After a thorough review, they tended to believe that tumours at her T5 area might have been compressing the nerves in the area causing the pain. T5 area is the area at Cass’ back where tumours were first diagnosed in July.

Since the T5 area was treated with radiation before, hence the oncologist stated that the radiation to be performed this time will only be a one-time session, rather than one full week, as Cass would have normally taken for new areas in the past. Further, in order to make this one-time radiation more effective, the coverage area will be slightly enlarged to not only cover T5 area, but also include the immediate neighbouring area as well. To prepare for the radiation that has been scheduled for Thursday Nov. 13 at 3:00 p.m., Cass took another CT scan after we had met the Radiation Oncologist.

The Palliative team asked Cass if she would want to see the Raptor game. Cass wasn't a big fan of basketball. However, she said she wanted to go only because uncle Gary liked basketball, and she wanted to take uncle Gary to see Raptor. So she asked the team if she could have an extra ticket for her to bring along uncle Gary. They gave us a set of Box tickets for our family together with uncle Gary and auntie Ivy to watch the Raptors game. Since they knew Cass was very weak and tired recently, they had also given her a room in the hospital for a nap prior to the game. We all enjoyed the game and we thanked the team for their thoughtful consideration. The Palliative Team reminded us of re-considering the option of taking Emily House for Cass. Emily House is a children hospice where special medical attention and assistance will be provided. As the team realized that Cassidy would need more special support and assistance if her pain continues to persist. Should such a scenario take place, it would become challenging for us to support her. It appears to be another heartbreaking decision we have to make as we would really like Cass to stay home, to assist her with all we can, and stand by her, to fight the battle with her together along the way.

Please continue to pray for Cass and my family. Pray that the one-time radiation treatment would work to control the growth of the tumours in her T5 area so that she won't be suffering from her pain everyday. Please also pray in the way Cass has been praying everyday...
She prayed to God for keeping her tumours stable in her body for long long long time but it would be even better that they would just all go away…..... taking away her pain, taking away her numbness and taking away her weakness so that she would be able to walk again and use her right arm again. Amen!

Trying very hard to stand still to post for a picture to show the clothes from Ching Ee Ee

Hi Cassidy,

I know you probably don't remember me, but just want you and your family to know that I'm praying for you all. Cancer is a very personal thing for me because my dad has also battled it. I know that it is not a mistake and that God has been working through this because I've seen it in my family.

“All flesh is like grass
and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord remains forever.”
1 Peter 1:24-25

Love,
Crystal
