Love wins! Cassidy said goodbye
(A message from around midnight, January 7, 2015.)
Cass
said good bye to all of us last midnight. She said sorry to all of us
that she needed to go very soon. She said many many times that "I love
you" to all of us. She has been breathing with great difficulty since
last night and the doctor got one more pump to put her to sleep and make
her more comfortable....her body is shutting down! She is not able to
eat, or talk with us anymore but will
do some simple responses to our questions. The doctor said it could be
anytime to any day in the next few days. Family and friends came to say
farewell! I didn't get the chance to ask her how she would like people
to remember her while she was still able to talk. Now I am thinking how
Cass would like people to remember her......I kept telling Cass that
mommy knew her so well & I knew what she liked and wanted. Do I?
Rob said: "love wins". In Junior worship we talked about athletes running races and there's some award at the end - trophy, medal, medallion. The race that Followers of Christ run is one that entirely is about love. God loves us and we in turn show that same love to the rest of the world. Aaron said earlier that Cass showed huge gratefulness during a time of bitterness. So love wins. In Hebrews, it talks of fighting the good fight and finishing the race. Cass, you fought a good fight because you showed us that love does win. You chose to love. Thank you Cass.'
(We are now all at Cass's bedside together with the E Es and Rob and Rebecca)

REST IN PEACE, CASSIDY!!!
It is very sad to see Cassidy has to leave her family to be with the Lord soon. Cassidy is so young but she has accomplished so much already. She shows us that the peace from the Lord is so real and there is no fear!
Cassidy, we shall see u again in Heaven!
Rest In Eternal Peace Cassidy.
I know that Cassidy will be with God soon. When I look at the sunrise or the stars at night, I know I will feel her smiling at us from the kingdom of Heaven. May her family and friends all feel comforted as they grieve during this difficult time!

My condolences to the family. You have shown us your courage during these difficult times. May you rest in peace.
Carmen, it is fine you didn't get a chance to ask Cass how she would like people to remember her while she was still able to talk. God makes us remembering Cass through her inspiring life testimony and good faith in Him. As a mother, you definitely know Cass better than anyone for her soul speaks to your soul. And you truly know one thing is God knows Cass's every single thought even if she has fallen asleep. As you shared the song the other day, our God is the blessing God who prosper us through His blessings. May His faithfulness sustain Cass and your family!
CaCa, may you in peace and may God comfort your family. CaCa, you are alive in our heart, thank you for your love toward life. we love you.May God bless your family enduring the pain with love.
Not only has Cassidy, but you Carmen, have also been an inspiration and encouragement to us all. As a mother, you've instilled in Cass the heart of faith and love, and sown seeds of God's truth into her spirit since young. Thank you for being the amazing woman of God that you are and being real with us, clinging to Jesus as you wrestled through the many heartaches and rough times. Indeed Cass has left a legacy and we rejoice because she will be in the arms of the loving Father, although she will be missed. Praying God's transcending peace, love and presence over you and your family.
I'm not Cass, so I don't know what her answer will be, but I imagine she would say, "I am the servant of God, I should be remembered as what God wants it to be."
“...we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (Roman 5:3-4)
Cass does not only show perseverance, character & hope, she is an amazing young lady who possessed great spirit, strong faith and has positively touch on so many others. This is how I would remember Cass.
God will lead Cass to His side.
It is not the number of years that determines a full life, it is what you do with those years. So to the family and friends of Cass, know that she lived a very full life. There are things she will miss like university, getting a job, marriage, etc...but those are part of a human experience.. not life. Cassidy lived life. Truly. And she had more love than anyone in the world.
I pray for your family constantly. And it is so sad to know that the end is so fast approaching... you're never really ready. But God will take her into His loving arms, and she will finally be in no pain. It is a temporary parting. =) We will all meet again in Heaven, happy, healthy, and praising God.
-Jay
