By the request and suggestion of some concerned brothers and sisters, due to the reason that some of those who are diligently praying for Cassidy and her family are from all around the world and may not know our circle of friends personally, the regular Blog posting may confused them because Dr. Jesse would sometimes refer to people by the names known to local circle only. Therefore, this new Prayer page is made for those who would like to just see the updated prayer needs of the Sheng Family so they can pray more specific prayers for them. So feel free to pass this site onto more prayer buddies to effect a greater prayer power. Thus the name of this new site http://PowerPray.blogspot.com

Examinations at Sick Kids

April 10, 2014

Cassidy, Aaron, Carmen and Andy Sheng need your prayer support!

Cassidy has done ultrasound and x-ray today, and the results showed something in her lungs. More scans are to be done. The family was not told re what's been found yet. Doctor, from Sick Kids Hospital, has called and arranged appointment for Monday morning.

Please pray for Cassidy and family for God's grace and mercy! Please pray that God's comfort be with them at this time of worrisome!

Also, please let them have quiet time. If you want to send them message, please tell them "no need to reply" so they can know you're supporting them with prayers yet no need to worry about replying your messages.

Thank you very much!

3 years had passed

It's been more than 3 years since the last post. Somewhere in 2014, postings re Cassidy's situation should be here while emails were used instead.

Now, I will update here by posting the emails.

Hello Santa

Guess what guys, Cassidy was on the news Dec 17 because she has gone to a very special place that day. If you also caught a peak at the news that day, you would know that our Princess has gone to the North Pole!! Yes, that's where Santa lives.

Isn't it amazing that out of those boring days of check-ups and physiotherapies, our CaCa Jue gets to have fun and enjoy such a trip with all other kids who are also going through stuggles in life. God definitely knows what CaCa Jue needs, that is a lot of love and much fun days like these. And God surely knows the needs in your hearts too. So rest assured that God is carrying you through whatever life may throw at you and that He has already prepared what is best for you. You just need to trust and follow Him!!

God never breaks His promise and that is why Baby Jesus was born to save us all. So remember that it is the great Birthday of our Lord Jesus and on this special day He gave us Himself as the Most Precious Gift of All. Would you say a pray in your heart now to tell Jesus how thankful you are for His wondrous birth?

Merry Christmas everyone!

Long Time No Hear.......

Hello Everyone, sorry for not updating for such a long time. Cassidy has been doing so well, actually amazingly well that she is out and about all the time and participating in so many activities that we all just couldn't keep up with her. She's got 1 real leg and she's running way ahead of all of us. It is amazing how God blesses her with so much energy that everybody is having a hard time to catch up with her....haha.

Well I suppose you don't expect to read 5 pages of CaCa's update here so I'll try to make things short. But if you're interested, let me know and I can give you 5 more pages...... ; )

Our princess is settling well at her new school and although she has to work very hard to catch up on her school works, especially French, she is putting a great effort to school and is doing well. In the last few months she was working really hard in her singing and music lessons for the audition to the Claude Watson School and she finally had her auditions in January. Although we have recently heard back from CWS that they cannot take Cassidy for the coming September term, but CaCa says she will work harder and try again next year. Hooray CaCa! That'a Girl!

During March Break this year, CaCa and her family kidda disappeared for a week from Toronto and guess where they're gone to?! HAWAII!!! ALOHA!! Thanks to the MakeAWish Foundation for booking up CaCa and GorGor Aaron and Mama and Papa and shipping them off to the wonderful beach and sun in the West Coast. Dr. Jesse was a bit jealous that we didn't get to tag along because we would have got to chase after the dolphin that CaCa was swimming with....ahhahhhah. But we all thank God for His wonderful timing that CaCa got to enjoy a great week of nice warm weather. Dr. Jesse will try to get some of those nice pictures uploaded here to share with everyone.....hang tight!

Also, CaCa has been swimming for a few months now and she gets 2 hours of water fun every Monday/Wednesday/Friday - WOW, that's 6 hours of swim every week! Hey Ca, you'll soon turn into a Princess Mermaid if you keep swimming so fast....haha.

It was like just a blink of eye and it's June already. CaCa is getting all hyped up for summer now. If you have any special summer bash ideas, feel free to send them in to us so we get to share the love of God in your families and your great times with the people you love. Isn't it amazing how people can love each other with the love that is already put into our hearts by God Himself?! Because God is Love and because God first loved us so we know how to love. CaCa wishes you a great deal of Love flowing from God into your hearts and prays that you and those you love would be continually blessed by the abundant Love of God.

Last but not least, CaCa and her family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Wu for checking in on her. Although we might have missed him during his recent stay in Toronto but we are warmed in our hearts by his love and concerns. Hopefully we get to see him the next time he's here! Dr. Wu, wherever you are, may the love and blessings from God be with you always! Thank you for checking in on us! You're so sweet!

Okay, everyone, here's the end of the 5 pages....hahahahaha. Stay tuned!

Back To School Cheers!

Happy Back To School Yaw! Dr. Jesse wishes you all a great new school year and all the blessings from God.

Ok, as you all know, CaCa is going to a new school this year and you're probably wondering how she's doing. Well, in general, she's doing fine but Mama Carmen says she doesn't want to talk about her new school yet. So we're yet to find out if she's having a good time at Northlea in this first week of school. But we're sure that God will give her strength to get used to all the new things and the Holy Spirit will help her to make new friends and to learn well.

For the time being, let's remember to pray for Cassidy's body to remain strong and ask God to keep her away from any germs and diseases so that she has all the energy she needs to get used to her new school, teachers and classmates.

And let's not forget about GorGor Aaron as he also started a new school year with perhaps more and harder works, let's pray for GorGor to have healthy body and wisdom from God to be able to do well on all subjects and also another happy and cheerful year of highschool learning. Go Aaron! Go!

Total Freedom

Praise the Lord! CaCa is out of surgery and is awake already. She is doing well, the whole day went well, she is not having much pain because the anesthetic is still working, we pray that the power of the anesthetic lasts a bit longer then CaCa doesn't have too suffer too much pain afterwards.

She is happy to be totally free of anything that has to do with the cancer. She is excited to be going home and continue to live life to the funnest and fullest, sharing her joy of God's love and the healing power by God's hand. Let us continue to pray for CaCa's new school and friends in September, pray that the love of Christ fills their school and classes, pray that her new friends get to know that Jesus loves them all and they accept the love of God into their lives. Pray also for CaCa's friends at Cliffwood that they continue to share CaCa's great story to every other kids and witness the greatness and power of God to everyone they know. CaCa will miss them much but nothing can separate them in spirits because the love of God keeps them linked together forever.

Without the continuous love and support from you all, and the blessings from our Heavenly Father, we couldn't have walked through this big challenge with our little princess, and CaCa couldn't have the opportunity to learn and witness what great things the love of God can do. There is no word to express our thanks to you all, we cherish the loving friendships and may God bless you all for all you do. May the Lord remember your goodness and reward you with His heavenly blessings.

Going in tomorrow morning

The hospital called last week about CaCa's new appointment for her surgery, and they just confirmed that everything is going ahead for tomorrow, Wednesday August 13, 2008 at 9am.

CaCa enjoyed her extended weeks of fun since her last apointment was cancelled, and she is also glad to be going in tomorrow to have her double ports removed.

We praise God for keeping CaCa and everyone at home strong and healthy, and we are grateful for God's protection and guidance on everything, looking back the year and a half, our little princess has gone through tremendous mountains in life but also greatly experienced the love and power of God.

As she gets ready for this final surgery, we ask for your continuous prayers on her quick recovery from the procedure and also for God to protect her from complications. Pray that the medical team and the hands of the doctors be guided by God to achieve the best for CaCa. Pray for protection on the whole family and also a new round of special care for CaCa during her recovery.

Thank you for all your love and prayers, we will update this blog at once when CaCa is out of surgery tomorrow. Cheers!

More Summer Playtime

CaCa's surgery to remove the port has been postponed! The hospital confirmed on last Friday for CaCa's surgery then called again on Saturday to cancel because they had to adjust the schedule for some other emergency operation. Whoever that child may be who had the emergency, we pray for God's healing and blessing on that child and his/her family.

And for CaCa, she gets to relax this week since we cancelled everything this week for her to recover from the surgery. But with the mostly sunny weather this week, CaCa is glad to have these extra times to enjoyt the summer!

We have not yet heard when her surgery will be, but we are prepared to be called in anytime. So please continue to pray for CaCa's body to remain healthy and continue to grow strong so she is ready for surgery anytime.

CaCa got a new school bag yesterday, we'll be gathering up her new school gear so she becomes more looking forward to starting new school in September. Please continue to pray for CaCa to be ready for her new school in September. Let's pray also that the love and friendship with her Cliffwood friends may continue to blossom in the love of God even when CaCa has moved to a new school, and that the great love of God is also carried over to Northlea by our loving princess as she sparks off new friendships there.

Enjoy the rest of the summer everyone, see you all around!

Surgery to Remove the Port

Dear All,

It has been a while since last update. I am sure CaCa is enjoying the summer. Just had a chat with Mama Carmen after she dropped CaCa to summer camp.

The Hospital of Sick Children has scheduled a surgery for CaCa to remove the port, near her heart, if you remember that. The sugery is scheduled to be on July 28 at 9:00 am. CaCa is supposed to get there at 7:00 am. This will be a day-surgery. The doctor said she would be in the recovery room for 4-6 hours after the surgery. Please continue to pray for CaCa and the family.

We thank God for the surgery. Originally, the doctor said the port would be in there for about 9 months (since February of this year). It's just 5 months. So, it's a good sign that CaCa is doing great!

Check up will continue to be done on every 3 months interval to monitor the progress.

I had a chance to see her at a gathering couple days ago, she's doing great. weighs are kept gaining and she's quite active! May God continue to bless the family! We are sure God is watching over CaCa and the family!

As for school, CaCa has to attend another school starting September. Although she doesn't like it, please pray that she will get used to it and gradually accept this fact and be prepared for the new school. I am sure she will make some new friends and enjoy the new school.

MaMa Carmen said she would take CaCa to do more physiotherapy training. She need to work more on the left leg so she does not rely too much on the clutches.

Hope you all have a great summer! God bless you!

Finally.....TaDah!!!

Hello Everyone, it took a while to gather all the pictures and to pick some to put in here. Since it is so difficult to pick which one to put in here, Dr. Jesse decided to put them all here for you to see. So pull up a chair, get a drink and cookie, sit back and enjoy!

Hello Everyone!!

Sorry for not updating for a while, we were hoping to gather some pictures from CaCa's birthday party and post them here to share our joy with you, because we were all busy making sure everyone's taken care of at the party and when we came home, we realized that none of us has taken any picture so we have no pictures to post. So if anyone of you has some nice pictures from that day, please kindly send them to Mommy Carmen so we can put here to share with everyone.

CaCa knows that you all miss her so we are not waiting for the pictures, she wants to tell you all about her happiness at school. She is so thankful to God for making it possible for her to come back to Cliffwood. Although she is still trying to catch up, and she is working really hard on her homeworks everyday, she wants to tell everyone that she is very happy to be seeing her friends and teachers everyday and playing and laughing together. CaCa asks everyone to please pray for her that God makes miracle that she can continue to go to Cliffwood for the rest of her elementary years. The TDSB is telling us that the 0.5SNA for Cassidy will last till only end of June and so she may not be able to return to Cliffwood after this semester ; ( CaCa has been referred to another school and we are scheduled to make a visit there tomorrow. So we really need your prayers to move God's hand to make way for CaCa to remain at Cliffwood next year.

CaCa is down at SickKids today for her regular check-up and bone scans. Please continue to pray for CaCa's body to remain strong and healthy and grow in spirit and posture. She's a very happy little girl these days as she gets up every morning excited for school, doing her homeworks right after coming home from school and enjoying everyday of learning and growing with her friends at school. Her newly decorated room is now painted a fresh light pink color and filled with Princess stickers, but of course our CaCa is the most beautiful amongst them all. Her body is growing well as she is eating well and her hair is growing rapidly, she now has cute short hairs like a little cupid but CaCa is still a little shy to show her short hair. She wants to let the hair grow a bit more longer before you all her new black shiny hair.

CaCa thanks everyone who has supported her through the last year by prayers and love. She wants to have a party everyday to thank everybody that God has put in her life and she wants to invite Jesus to join the party so all of you may get to know our Lord and Savior because she is very happy to be a special girl to God. See y'all!

Taking off for the island of joy!

We are all very excited as we count down to CaCa's big birthday party. We are having the theme of the Tropical Island where Barbie the Island Princess lives. The warm weather is just in time for us to get all ready for the heat and fun.

To make our island party more fun, Cassidy asks that every children who are coming to the party to bring a picture that you drew of an Island Theme, so that we can post them all on the wall and CaCa will pick out her favourite one, and the winner will win a great prize!! So get those color pencils and paint brushes out and get drawing!!

Mama Carmen wants to tell everyone to not worry too much about getting presents for CaCa because she has already mountains of toys. But Mama Carmen reminds everybody to each write or draw or make a Birthday Card for Cassidy because she loves to read and read and read those cards that people write to her. You will not be given entrance to the island if you didn't bring a card for Cassidy, ok? So don't worry about buying presents, but if you really have to, you can find out from Mama Carmen about CaCa's current favourite character, or monetary gifts will be warmly received.

We pray that all of you will be well and healthy in the abundant blessings of God and we will see you at the island!! Cheers!

The Amazing Power of God's Love

Rejoice! And give thanks to God! We are so blessed to hear from a parent of Cassidy's friend, little Johnson, that they have came to know God and accepted Jesus as their Savior. Little Johnson's mom says it was because of having walked through Cassidy's illness with us that she has came to realize the amazing love of God and that she has now started to bring little Johnson to church so that they both get to know more of God's Word and experience more of Jesus' powerful love and blessings with many more brothers and sisters in Christ. And Cassidy and our whole family are so happy to hear this news. We were all in the same room, because the house is under renovation so we're stuck in 1 room most of the time, when Johnson's mommy called to tell us this great news, and we rejoiced together with great gladness. There is nothing more greater and happier than hearing that your friends and families have accepted the most precious gift of eternal life from God. Hallelujah!!!

We are excited in looking forward to Cassidy upcoming birthday party where our loving church family and CaCa's loving uncles and aunties get together to celebrate her first special birthday since she got ill last year. Many of CaCa's friends will also join us to make this an extra special day as we praise and give our grateful thanks to God. We love, because God first loved us. There is no greater love than the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ for all of us. It is CaCa's dream come true when everyone in the world will know Jesus and love each other so there will be no war and fights but only peace in the world.

CaCa and Dr. Jesse pray for everyone of you that God will bless you all in your lives and all your families and may the Lord bless you and protect you, that He makes His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you, may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. Amen.

Praise God for a full year of blessings.

Time is going by so quickly, especially when you are surrounded by so much love and supports. It is almost a full year now since Cassidy first felt sick, looking back in this year, we cannot praise God enough for so much blessings in our lives. Even when CaCa had to fight hard with cancer, even when our hearts were so painful to see every bit of pain and suffering, even when the world seems dark and scary, God has never left our side and He has poured so much blessings that we are so overflowed with thanksgivings. We praise and thank God for His wonderful love that was sent to CaCa and us through everyone of you who came into our lives. It was this wonderful and powerful love that kept CaCa and us going strong for this amazing year. Praise the Lord!

CaCa has been back to school for 2 weeks now and she is enjoying it ever more. She is gradually catching up and is doing fine with her homework. Thanks to GorGor Aaron for his patience in helping CaCa with many of her French homework. GorGor, you're a hero!!

Mommy says CaCa seems to be functioning well with her help and with the assistance from her SNA worker, but may be it's because she's getting all the help she needs, CaCa doesn't seem to have improve much on her independence. So Mommy asks us to pray for CaCa that she continues to become more independent on her physical functions so that when there is nobody to help, she can still do all the things she wishes to do on her own. Also, CaCa has been experiencing some short but sharp pains in her leg in the last few days, we are thinking that it may be from the stretching of her flesh and skin caused by the overall body growth but we are going to let the doctor check her out to make sure everything is ok. So please remember to continue to pray for CaCa's overall health and for doctor to have wisdom and good eyes to ensure everything is well with CaCa's body.

It seems like just yesterday when CaCa turned 7, and in a couple more weeks, our little princess is turning 8 already. We are so looking forward to her birthday which marks another great year filled with blessings and amazing love from God and all the angels sent from heaven. CaCa's hairs are growing back rapidly and she now looks like a cupid with cute little short hairs. Give her an arrow and wings and you'll sure to see her fly. Haha!!

Pray for CaCa to catch up...

This week has been full of excitements and challenges. The excitements are that CaCa is so thrilled to be back at Cliffwood and seeing all her friends and teachers again. She's so busy catching up with her friends and her friends with her too. But having missed most of the Gr.2 curriculum, CaCa faces the challenges of catching up with school works especially in French.

CaCa was quite up set after school on Monday, which was her first day back at Cliffwood, because she found it hard to understand what her teacher was teaching speaking all in French. But Mommy encouraged her to try hard and GorGor Aaron came to the rescue because GorGor is also going to French Emersion school and his French is good that he can help CaCa out. Aaron, you are not only an angel to CaCa but also a big hero all the time.

GorGor's assistance surely helps out much because CaCa was not up set when she came home from school on Tuesday. Although she still had things that she could not understand in class, but compared to Monday, it was a big difference already. As CaCa gets use to coming back to Cliffwood, we are confident that she would catch up well with the great help of her hero GorGor Aaron.

Not only CaCa is the one getting used to school again, everyone at Cliffwood is also getting used to having CaCa there again. All little kids would rush out of the classroom at recess to play, CaCa's friends at Cliffwood are no different. So on Monday the first day of CaCa back at school, she was already fitting in well that everyone forgot that it was her first day back and at recess, everyone ran out of the classroom leaving only Cassidy in the classroom. It was so funny that CaCa heard the bell and looked up and everyone was gone so fast. But it was also a little boring for CaCa to be staying in the classroom all by herself. However, her friends were so good to stay with her at the second break on Monday realizing that CaCa was alone in the classroom. We praise God for such good and loving friends who are willing to sacrifice their play time to be with Cassidy at recess and lunch time. We pray that their friendships will grow ever greatly to reveal the love of God in their lives and be a blessing to many others.

Dr. Jesse went check CaCa out after school on Tuesday and played with her for a few hours. CaCa was still so full of energy after a long day at school and was having a very good appetite. She shared a big organic apple with Dr. Jesse and also fed a lot of yummy treats to Dr. J. It was so much fun!! Dr. J. is also glad to see CaCa's hair is growing back and you can see her eyebrow very clearly now. Yay!

Mommy Carmen is now staying at school with CaCa in the mornings and after lunch, the SNA appointed to CaCa will take over to care for her so Mommy can ran off home to prepare meals and other things that CaCa will need in the rest of the day. Papa Andy is also busy catching up at work and also taking time to pick up Aaron after school. Let us pray for God to help the family get used to this new and still changing schedules, remain healthy and well, strong in faith and trust in God to carry them through everyday of life that will testify the power of God and glorify His Name.

Very Nice Surprise!

It's Monday and Happy Monday everyone! This is the day that the Lord hath made! We will rejoice and be glad in it! Especially everyone at Cliffwood, because it is the big day for Cassidy's big home coming to Cliffwood.

As we were all looking forward to April 1, there is a nice surprise that CaCa is actually going back to Cliffwood today! This is a day CaCa has been looking forward to since last April. Today is again another big new step in CaCa's life and let us all cheer for CaCa!

As there will still be many many things to work out about CaCa continue to go to Cliffwood, let us all pray that God will guide everyone through the process and everyone involved to experience the love and grace of God throughout the process of helping Cassidy in this. Also, let's not forget to pray for CaCa to adapt well back to her school and that she can move around well without any accident. Pray that all her friends and teachers will be glad to help her out whenever she needs help and pray also that CaCa gets to share the love of God in her life with all her friends there.

Let us praise God with a thanksgiving heart as we look back to the days that we walked together with CaCa, GorGor Aaron, Mama Carmen and Papa Andy through the darkness in life and to realize what a great mountain our faithful God has brough us through in the last year. Our God is good all the time, and all the time, our God is good!

A Great Celebration of Easter

The March Break has gone by so quickly and after a full week of anticipation, Easter has also gone by in a flash. I hope everyone had not only a great weekend, but also a great reflective time on Good Friday to remember the sacrifice our Lord Jesus has made Himself to redeem all of us and a celebrative time on Easter for the joy of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is only because of this love from God that we are able to love. Let us proclaim with faith and our experience of love that our Lord Jesus Christ is in deed alive today and forever, for He is Christ the Messiah, our Lord God.

As Easter brings us the hope of life and symbolized the birth of a new life, we are joyfully anticipating a new big step in Cassidy's life. Sooner than you know it, Cassidy is returning on April 1 to Cliffwood to attend classes with all her friends and seeing her teachers and principal. Although there is only a 0.5 SNA approved for Cassidy to be at Cliffwood for half day each time, but Cassidy just couldn't wait to be back where she feels she belongs. Let us continue to pray for God to make a way that Cassidy may continue to go to Cliffwood and grow up with all her friends who have been through this special life journey with her. Pray that God would show Mommy and Daddy the best way to arrange for CaCa's future education and follow God's guidance in all aspects to help Cassidy grow up happily overflowing with love and support.

As CaCa gradually gets back into a more normal life schedule, let us NOT forget to pray also for Gor Gor Aaron that he also gets to enjoy CaCa's company at home and pray that he also do well at school and in all other things he enjoys. Let's have a big cheer for our Super Sib Aaron for his outstanding love and support in the last many months to CaCa, Mommy and Daddy when the family was going through a very rough time. Aaron, you are a great hero! Yeah!

It's March Break!

It's March break now! Thank you for your continuing support and prayers! Here is some update about CaCa.

CaCa, Aaron, Mama and Papa went to a Japanese All-You-Can-Eat restaurant, with some other families from the cell group at Church, for lunch today after Sunday Worship. Everyone was full after the meal!

Some of the days Ca will be at Bloorview for physiotherapy appointments. On top of this, she will have some gatherings with her friends from Cliffwood. I am sure she will have a great time! Mama Carmen is scheduling the daily activities for CaCa to fill up the rest of the March break time-table.

The program with Bloorview will be done soon at the end of March. There was a meeting, where principals, teachers, physicians, physiotherapists, social workers, parents, and many had attended, to discuss and work out some plan for the near future. Thanks to all who have attended and to all who have been so concerned about the progress.

The current plan and status is that after Bloorview, Ca will start going back to Cliffwood, where 0.5 SNA (Special Need Assistant) has been approved to help Ca for half a day (that's why it is 0.5) each day for the period of April 1 to end of May. What will happen after end of May is not sure yet.

Please continue to pray for the recovery of CaCa, and her studying at Cliffwood. May God lead the way of her academic path. Please pray for the Sheng's family as there's still a lot to explore and get used to in the future. Your continuous support is highly appreciated!

Check out CaCa on Toronto Star

http://www.thestar.com/printArticle/309066

Sorry for not updating as often, after a very very busy week with conferences and meetings and deadlines to meet, Dr. Jesse has came down with fevers over the weekend and then just found out that it's some ear and respiratory tract infections. Still taking antibiotics ; (

In any case, CaCa has been doing ok in everything. She's gone back to church 2 Sundays in a row, although still a bit quiet and timid, she's enjoying being with her friends again and has participated in doing all sorts of activities that everyone else are doing. Just this past Sunday, everyone got to write down their wishes and put into a hat, and CaCa's wish is to be able to go back to school. Oh, dear God, if it is Your will, please bring CaCa back to school so she can be with her friends and teachers again!

With some very heavy meds, Dr. Jesse gotta turn myself in again. Hope to keep everyone updated more often as I get better! Ciao!
