By the request and suggestion of some concerned brothers and sisters, due to the reason that some of those who are diligently praying for Cassidy and her family are from all around the world and may not know our circle of friends personally, the regular Blog posting may confused them because Dr. Jesse would sometimes refer to people by the names known to local circle only. Therefore, this new Prayer page is made for those who would like to just see the updated prayer needs of the Sheng Family so they can pray more specific prayers for them. So feel free to pass this site onto more prayer buddies to effect a greater prayer power. Thus the name of this new site http://PowerPray.blogspot.com

Very Nice Surprise!

It's Monday and Happy Monday everyone! This is the day that the Lord hath made! We will rejoice and be glad in it! Especially everyone at Cliffwood, because it is the big day for Cassidy's big home coming to Cliffwood.

As we were all looking forward to April 1, there is a nice surprise that CaCa is actually going back to Cliffwood today! This is a day CaCa has been looking forward to since last April. Today is again another big new step in CaCa's life and let us all cheer for CaCa!

As there will still be many many things to work out about CaCa continue to go to Cliffwood, let us all pray that God will guide everyone through the process and everyone involved to experience the love and grace of God throughout the process of helping Cassidy in this. Also, let's not forget to pray for CaCa to adapt well back to her school and that she can move around well without any accident. Pray that all her friends and teachers will be glad to help her out whenever she needs help and pray also that CaCa gets to share the love of God in her life with all her friends there.

Let us praise God with a thanksgiving heart as we look back to the days that we walked together with CaCa, GorGor Aaron, Mama Carmen and Papa Andy through the darkness in life and to realize what a great mountain our faithful God has brough us through in the last year. Our God is good all the time, and all the time, our God is good!

A Great Celebration of Easter

The March Break has gone by so quickly and after a full week of anticipation, Easter has also gone by in a flash. I hope everyone had not only a great weekend, but also a great reflective time on Good Friday to remember the sacrifice our Lord Jesus has made Himself to redeem all of us and a celebrative time on Easter for the joy of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is only because of this love from God that we are able to love. Let us proclaim with faith and our experience of love that our Lord Jesus Christ is in deed alive today and forever, for He is Christ the Messiah, our Lord God.

As Easter brings us the hope of life and symbolized the birth of a new life, we are joyfully anticipating a new big step in Cassidy's life. Sooner than you know it, Cassidy is returning on April 1 to Cliffwood to attend classes with all her friends and seeing her teachers and principal. Although there is only a 0.5 SNA approved for Cassidy to be at Cliffwood for half day each time, but Cassidy just couldn't wait to be back where she feels she belongs. Let us continue to pray for God to make a way that Cassidy may continue to go to Cliffwood and grow up with all her friends who have been through this special life journey with her. Pray that God would show Mommy and Daddy the best way to arrange for CaCa's future education and follow God's guidance in all aspects to help Cassidy grow up happily overflowing with love and support.

As CaCa gradually gets back into a more normal life schedule, let us NOT forget to pray also for Gor Gor Aaron that he also gets to enjoy CaCa's company at home and pray that he also do well at school and in all other things he enjoys. Let's have a big cheer for our Super Sib Aaron for his outstanding love and support in the last many months to CaCa, Mommy and Daddy when the family was going through a very rough time. Aaron, you are a great hero! Yeah!

It's March Break!

It's March break now! Thank you for your continuing support and prayers! Here is some update about CaCa.

CaCa, Aaron, Mama and Papa went to a Japanese All-You-Can-Eat restaurant, with some other families from the cell group at Church, for lunch today after Sunday Worship. Everyone was full after the meal!

Some of the days Ca will be at Bloorview for physiotherapy appointments. On top of this, she will have some gatherings with her friends from Cliffwood. I am sure she will have a great time! Mama Carmen is scheduling the daily activities for CaCa to fill up the rest of the March break time-table.

The program with Bloorview will be done soon at the end of March. There was a meeting, where principals, teachers, physicians, physiotherapists, social workers, parents, and many had attended, to discuss and work out some plan for the near future. Thanks to all who have attended and to all who have been so concerned about the progress.

The current plan and status is that after Bloorview, Ca will start going back to Cliffwood, where 0.5 SNA (Special Need Assistant) has been approved to help Ca for half a day (that's why it is 0.5) each day for the period of April 1 to end of May. What will happen after end of May is not sure yet.

Please continue to pray for the recovery of CaCa, and her studying at Cliffwood. May God lead the way of her academic path. Please pray for the Sheng's family as there's still a lot to explore and get used to in the future. Your continuous support is highly appreciated!

Check out CaCa on Toronto Star

http://www.thestar.com/printArticle/309066

Sorry for not updating as often, after a very very busy week with conferences and meetings and deadlines to meet, Dr. Jesse has came down with fevers over the weekend and then just found out that it's some ear and respiratory tract infections. Still taking antibiotics ; (

In any case, CaCa has been doing ok in everything. She's gone back to church 2 Sundays in a row, although still a bit quiet and timid, she's enjoying being with her friends again and has participated in doing all sorts of activities that everyone else are doing. Just this past Sunday, everyone got to write down their wishes and put into a hat, and CaCa's wish is to be able to go back to school. Oh, dear God, if it is Your will, please bring CaCa back to school so she can be with her friends and teachers again!

With some very heavy meds, Dr. Jesse gotta turn myself in again. Hope to keep everyone updated more often as I get better! Ciao!

Need prayers for an urgent matter!!!

Very Disappointed!
Cassidy is very disappointed!
We need all your prayers in this matter.

As you all know, Cassidy has been soooooooo looking forward to return to her own school "Cliffwood". All the love and support from her principal, teachers and friends at Cliffwood was what kept her fighting strong all these months. But we have just found out in the last few days that there may be a problem for Cassidy to return to Cliffwood !!??!!

And it's not something Cassidy or any of us can do to help it. We were told that due to some complicated school board budget and issues, Cliffwood might not be able to take Cassidy back despite all the things done by the school, the medical specialists and the social workers team all working together hoping to soon bring Cassidy back to Cliffwood to be with her friends.

I remember when CaCa was in ICU after her 15 hours surgery, she was crying and saying "I just want my life back". And we told her to stay strong and fight hard so she can be back to her normal life sooner. And to our little princess, her life = her school, her friends, her home and church.

Now that she has fought the battle and at the victory over all her chemotherapies and getting a hang at her physiotherapies, when it's time she's looking at the light at the end of this long tunnel, when she's seeing she's getting so close back to Cliffwood and all her cheering teachers and friends, some heartbreaking school board and admin issues came up to kill the dreams that a little girl has worked so hard to catch. A kind-spirited little girl who went through bone cancer; endured big surgeries; suffered amputation; tormented by harsh chemotherapies; worked so hard at painful physiotherapies just to be able to stand up tall again on her own leg and prothesis and still having to take many more needles and scans and medical tests for the rest of her life,
all she asks for is to be able to come home to her brother and parents
and
be back at her own school where she was taken from by cancer in April of 2007.

Cassidy's heart is so broken now by this news, and so are ours. There has to be something someone can do?! The principal, teachers and kids at Cliffwood are all supportive of Cassidy's return and have been so looking forward to the day. The school is limited by some budget issues that they cannot hire personal worker to help Cassidy at school but Mommy Carmen is ready to volunteer 100% of the time that Cassidy is at school. CaCa is saying "I just want to go back to school and live a normal life! I lost my leg and a lot of time, I gotta go back to school to catch up with my friends!"

Would you please pray really really hard for God to show us the way and bring to us someone who can help Cassidy to return to Cliffwood? Would you, whoever reading this blog, pray that those who have power and authority to make a difference in this to have a heart to care and to understand how much this means to Cassidy.

When you are 7 years old, your friends and your school are your world besides your family. Cliffwood and all the teachers and friends are the whole world and life for Cassidy, they are what kept her going during the darkest time in her life, the thought of being back at Cliffwood one day is what kept our little princess fighting so hard all along. The love and support from Cliffwood is all her emotional support all these month.

Please don't rob this from our little girl who already endured and suffered some much in life! Please don't let some human-intercedable issue kill the dreams and future of a girl who's willing to work hard to make a difference in people's life despite her own disability.

Please pray for God to mend the broken heart in Cassidy.
Please help!
Please do something!

Packing Up Soon!!!

Praise the Lord!! Cassidy has been doing well over the week and was home to enjoy a nice long weekend with GorGor Aaron. Such a nice idea to have a Family Day holiday that encourages everyone to spend time with the family. God brings people into our lives and families to love us and also for us to love them so we all learn to love with the love of God. Remember? We love because God first loved us, even when we have sinned and fall short of the glory of God! What a wonderful God we have in heaven! It's such a blessing to be the children of God and it is awesome to become family with God and all the people who loves our Lord Jesus Christ!

CaCa has returned to Bloorview just Monday night and according to schedules, CaCa should be released from Bloorview this Friday and change into day patient. That means she would have to get up very very early in the morning to catch the Bloorview bus at 7:30am. Please remember to continue to pray for CaCa's health and strength to be able to withstand this new stress of having to get up early and pray for God to show us if there is another alternative within His will. Also, pray for mommy and daddy to also have the health and strength and endurance to also adapt to this new daily routines as getting up early; waking Cassidy up early; preparing Cassidy to leave the house early and packing things needed throughout a day at Bloorview early in the morning are way much more stressful than staying at Bloorview with Cassidy. So as we joyfully celebrate the coming home of Cassidy, let us continue to support the whole family by prayers that they also smoothly morph into this new challenging daily routines. Pray also for CaCa to continue to do well in her physiotherapy and her mobility with the new prothesis, so that she may finish up all treatments sooner.

There will be a MRI scan this Thursday for Cassidy, please pray for a smooth procedure and for God to give wisdom to doctors to have a good and thorough study of the MRI reports so they can see clearly the most current condition of CaCa's health.

We are so looking forward to a big party to celebrate Cassidy's progress with you all. Stay tuned and we'll keep you all posted on our big party plan! Cheers!

Some updates!

Hello Everyone, you must be wondering where Cassidy is lately. Well, we've been busy with Chinese New Year celebrations and then back to SickKids doing some scans so we lost track of times. After a cold cold windy weekend, Cassidy was back at SickKids yesterday for CT Scan and Bone Scan in the morning and then has gone back to Bloorview last night. There will be an MRI next week at SickKids and then perhaps by next Friday, CaCa will be discharged from Bloorview and change into Day Patient status.

CaCa was supposed to be discharged this Friday but there are a few more things to be sorted out and CaCa has to learn to use the washroom independently before she goes home. So let us pray for Cassidy to have strength to work hard at handling her prosthesis and moving around when using the washroom. Also pray for God to prepare her both physically and emotionally to adapt well back home and for Mommy, Daddy and GorGor Aaron to have wisdom from God to make the home safe and comfy for CaCa.

The nurses were telling Mommy that CaCa's leg will begin to feel pain as the nerves start to work and CaCa is recently feeling the pain in her leg. Nurses said it will help if the leg is often touched but CaCa is mostly afraid of touching her leg. So please pray for God to give courage to CaCa to feel around her leg more to help the nerves learn the new feelings in the skin to make the "pain" feeling go away. And pray that God will comfort CaCa whenever the leg hurts again and help her to be joyful about it as it is a good sign of the new nerves working. Pray also for all doctors and nurses to have wisdom from God to continue to give the best treatment and care to our little princess.

As CaCa gets discharged from Bloorview and change to Day Patient, she will then need to get up really really early everyday to take the Bloorview Bus to go to Bloorview for school and rehab, and we are worrying that this would create new stresses for CaCa as well as the rest of the family. Please pray for God to work things out for CaCa that we can either find a better alternative to dragging her out of bed so early to catch the bus or for CaCa to have the strength and health to adapt to this harsh schedule.

There will be many changes in the weeks and months to come, CaCa can't wait to go home and celebrate her new life with everyone. Furthermore, we are in the planning for our trip to Disney Florida this July. So pray for God to guide us all through the coming months and also pray for God to reveal His plan for us all.

A whole Ocean Animal Series

Thanks to Heidi Jei Jei, CaCa has collected a whole series of the Ocean Animal Pooh. The Jelly Fish and the Star Fish is Dr. Jesse's favorite and CaCa loves all of them. We also added a Turtle Pooh from another series to enlarge this Ocean Series, remember to ask CaCa to show you her whole new Pooh series next time you visit her.

CaCa is doing well in this cold weekend, but Mommy Carmen is feeling a little soar throat. So please pray that Mommy gets well and that CaCa doesn't get sick from anyone neither. We should be going in to SickKids for some test throughout the next week or so, so stay tuned for the updates!

Once again, Cassidy did well in clearing off her chemo this time and is already back at Bloorview today. Good girl Ca, we are proud of you for being so good in drinking lots to clear the chemo. You are now OFFICIALLY DONE!

We'll just be at Bloorview briefly and then going home tomorrow to celebrate a fun filled weekend of Chinese New Year! CaCa wishes to greet everyone a happy healthy joyous and blessed year of 2008. May God our Father blesses you all and may His Holy Spirit fill all your hearts so that we all live another worshipful year with thanksgiving to our Lord Jesus Christ.

CaCa can't wait to see you all and play with you all! Drive safe and don't get stuck in the white stuff!!

Done! Done! and Done!

Thanks to all your prayers, Cassidy was called back to SickKids on Monday morning, and after waited almost the whole day, they finally started the hydration drips around midnight and by Tuesday morning, all the chemo drips are done and over. We are just waiting for CaCa's body to clear up the chemo drugs and then she can be released back to Bloorview.

That's all for the chemo rounds and we'll just have to wait for the final big scan coming up. So let's continue to pray for Cassidy's body to stay strong and pray for God to take away any side effects. CaCa was not eating too well lately so we need to pray for God to help her with her appetite so she would feel to eat more healthy and yummy food.

Cassidy got a very nice Butterfly Bouquet and a Chocolate Bouquet to cheer her on as she completes up all her chemo rounds. It is another big big step she took since chemo started in May of last year. In celebrating such great achievement, we are planning to bring Cassidy to a shopping trip in Marchbreak. Nothing is confirmed yet, so please pray for God's guidance on this, would ya?!

Yeah! Ca! You've made it! Praise the Lord! No more chemo! Yeah!!!

Waiting for a bed!!

Cassidy was back at SickKids on Thursday getting all ready for her very very last chemo, but....... there was no bed for our little princess!?! Well, that's not too too bad as CaCa then gets to sneak home for a weekend of fun with GorGor Aaron. We're now on call to take CaCa in as soon as they have bed and we are all hoping that CaCa gets done and gets out of SickKids for the big Chinese New Year. So please pray for God's best timing for CaCa's very last chemo and if it is His will, to let CaCa get done in time to celebrate Chinese New Year.

On behalf of CaCa, Aaron, Mommy and Daddy, Dr. Jesse wishes everyone a healthy and blessed Chinese New Year! Cheeeeers!

One more to go!

CaCa has done great in this round of Chemo and her body clears off very quickly that it didn't even need all 72 hours to clear off the chemo drug. She is now just released by SickKids and waiting for Daddy to come pick her up and bring her back to Bloorview. Then according to the schedule, if CaCa's blood levels are good and all goes well, she would be back at SickKids again this Thursday for her very very LAST round of chemotherapy. Praise God for CaCa's great progress and let us continue to pray for CaCa's body to stay strong and well throughout all the rest of treatments.

CaCa will then be having a full big scan in February as a check up after the completion of all chemotherapy and that would mark another beginning of CaCa's life as she becomes cancer free and gradually adapting back to normal life. Although she would still be having her physiotherapy at Bloorview as a day patient, but she can stay home all the time with GorGor Aaron and to play with him all the time. And once she gets a good hang on walking more stable with her prosthesis, she can then start to try coming back to Cliffwood, her own school, and be able to catch up with all her friends at school. She can also then start to come back to church and worship God with all her brothers and sisters in the family of God.

CaCa is so exciting about completing all treatments and be able to go anywhere she likes and do all different things with GorGor Aaron. She is so looking forward to seeing all her friends and school and church and she is so longing to be able to go on a trip to Disney. CaCa's got a long list of things she wants to do when she's done with all treatments and be able to move on in life. Let us all pray for CaCa to stay well and healthy, pray for her good appetite to eat all yummy meals to make her body strong, pray for God to provide all needed arrangements to make CaCa's transition to go back to home and school, pray for CaCa to grow up with wisdom from God to be able to help others with her experience in cancer and pray for CaCa to continue to shine the lights of God's hope onto people and glorifying God by sharing the love of God with many more.

CaCa's big ministry.

CaCa was back at SickKids on Thursday as scheduled for her 2nd last chemo round. When she got there at SickKids, the doctor asked her to help out with his other patient who is a teenage boy who also has Osteosarcoma exactly at the same location as Cassidy. He had already had a limb salvage surgery some time ago but his cancer has came back and he was facing the decision to have an amputation. So CaCa went on a mission to meet with this teenage boy to show him her leg and to talk with him. CaCa was a little hesitant at first but when she realized that this boy and his family is going through a very hard time making the decision, she felt that she might be able to help them by showing them her leg and how she can still live a very fun and happy life. We believe that the joy and hope that CaCa has in God is revealed to this boy and his family and let us pray for this boy for his strength, and that they may find comfort and peace as they take this big step.

This was also a big step for Cassidy as she has always been hesitant in showing her leg to anyone. We praise God that CaCa finds strength and confidence about her amputation and her joy and hope in God despite her difference. By the grace and love of God, CaCa has turned what seems to be a curse into great blessings. She has become such a blessing to all of us throughout the journey and is now becoming much greater blessings to those whom we don't know but are going through struggles in life. By the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we proclaim victory over pains and sufferings in life, and by the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we defeat all evil and all evil schemes . And in the Name of God, we pray that Cassidy grows up to become a great minister to all others as well as great blessings to others as she shares her journey of cancer to all those who God brings along her life's way.

A Cheerful Busy Day!

Cassidy enjoyed another great weekend at home and attending the long anticipated wedding. She enjoyed the great party much except she was not allowed to eat most of the food that she wanted at the banquet so she was a upset and cried. But nevertheless, CaCa had a great time at the wedding.

As CaCa has gone back to Bloorview, today was an exceptional busy day for her. Specialists and her case manager have gone to do a thorough school visit with CaCa and Mama Carmen this morning at Cliffwood so they can complete an accurate report on CaCa's need when she becomes ready to return to school. The healthcare resource is scarced so let us pray that CaCa's case got approved for personal worker to be granted to care for her when it's time for her to return to regular school so we don't have to worry about her going up and down the stairs and accessing the classrooms and washrooms. CaCa was so glad to see all her friends, teachers and her principal again!

CaCa got a little dizzy from travelling all around this morning and made it back to Bloorview for a very late lunch. According to the schedules, CaCa is due back to SickKids on Thursday for another round of Chemo. Please keep CaCa in our prayers that she stays strong and healthy so that she does well in this round of chemo as we count down to her chemo completion day.

CaCa Jue, you've done great! You're almost done! We'll keep cheering on for you!

Enjoying rest from chemo this week at Bloorview

Cassidy is enjoying her first of the 2 weeks break from chemo at Bloorview. She was home to enjoy playtime with GorGor Aaron and being home with mommy and daddy over the weekend and has already returned to Bloorview to continue her classes and physiotherapies. CaCa was so looking forward to swim at Bloorview and she finally had the chance to go for a dip last night and had so much fun. She is now struggling between the choices of the Baking Class and swimming on Wednesday nights because she also loves baking on every Wednesday nights but she also wants to swim as much as she can since swimming is only available on Monday and Wednesday nights. Oh..... our little princess just have to learn to make some important life choices. But Dr. Jesse says go for baking coz the cookies are yummy yummy....hehe ; p

Mommy says CaCa's doing well and she's feeling fine these last few days, praise God for keeping CaCa well since her last chemo, let's pray that her blood counts stay at a good level and that she remains strong and healthy all the way through her treatments. There is a wedding of a relative this Saturday and CaCa is so looking forward to it. Let's pray that God gives CaCa extra strength this weekend so she gets to enjoy seeing all the relatives who haven't seen her for long and that God would protect her from any sickness even being around so many people. Pray that CaCa and GorGor stick together and have lots of fun at the wedding, and Aaron can help take care of CaCa when mommy and daddy might get busy at times. Aaron, you are such a hero to CaCa, CaCa is so lucky to have a big brother like you.

According to the schedule, CaCa should be back at SickKids next Thursday for the next round of chemo. It is so nice to count down on just 2 more rounds for CaCa.

Keep up the good work Princess, we're cheering for you all the way!

Another one done!!

Praise The Lord! Cassidy has made it through another round of chemo smoothly and has returned to Bloorview yesterday afternoon. There will be 2 weeks of rest from chemo and then 2 more rounds and we're done!!! Way to go girl!

Cassidy is doing well at Bloorview and was enjoying play at Bloorview's play program last night. According to her treatment schedule, the doctors are planning to let her come home hopfully sometime in February and only return as a day patient for her rehab program, then perhaps in March or April, Cassidy can gradually return to her regular school.

Let us all pray hard for Cassidy to remain strong and healthy so she can finish up all her chemo as scheduled. Then pray that she does well in her rehab treatment when she becomes an outpatient in the next month. Also pray for God's guidance on CaCa's returning to regular school especially about how she can adapt to the stairs at Cliffwood. Mama Carmen and Papa Andy needs all the wisdom from God to plan for the best for Cassidy. And most importantly, pray for GorGor Aaron to enjoy the company of Cassidy again as she can soon return home to stay. Pray that Aaron and CaCa invent more fun play and cherishable moments together and that Aaron can help mommy and daddy out in taking care of our little princess. A loving big brother is such a great gift from God to all little girls. Cheers!

Almost Done!

Happy New Year again everyone! We're all back to school today, Dr. Jesse wishes everyone a fun learning day at school and prays that everyone gets back into a hardworking mode quickly and easily after a great long holiday.

Princess Cassidy had a great great great Christmas filled with lots of presents and parties and friends and love. We praise God for blessing her with so many friends, uncles and aunties and for so much love and support, we are so thankful to God for all of you and we cannot thank you all enough for showing us the love that cannot have came from anywhere else but from our heavenly Father.

Cassidy's blood level was not quite high enough for chemo last week so they gave her another week of rest from treatment and just called her back to SickKids yesterday afternoon to start the next round of chemo. According to the schedule, CaCa has only 3 rounds of chemo left and she'll be done. Way to go! CaCa! Let us pray that Cassidy responds well in this round of chemo as well as the rest of them, pray that God would again minimize the side effects of these last rounds of chemo that Cassidy can still sleep and eat well during these times. Pray for the chemo drug to work well to eliminate all tumor cells in Cassidy's body so that she remains strong, healthy and cancer free.

CaCa has been working hard on getting used to her prosthesis, let us also remember to pray for her progress so that she can be up and running around soon. Cassidy likes to go places and she would be thrilled when she's all trained up to go all places without the wheelchair and walker. Cassidy, keep up the good work and let's go all over the world to share the love of God to all people as Jesus told all of us to do. We'll cheer on for you!

At the beginning of a new year, let us all pray that this year would be overflowing of love and blessings from God above. Let us dedicate this year 2008 to our Lord Jesus Christ that we commit our lives to Him to love others and to become a blessing to others around us.

A Great New Year to Everyone!

It has been a great Christmas for Cassidy as she was able to come home and see her friends and family over this holiday week. She has been blessed by so many friends from both school and church. Friends from the BTBC Joshua fellowship had thrown a party for her, then the Wismer church friends also thrown her a surprised party. Then there were many more parties and many more visited her at home in the last few days. CaCa is so happy to be home this Christmas and she can't wait till all treatments are over and she can be home with GorGor Aaron more often.

As some of you knew already, CaCa has gone back for her treatments and just a few more weeks, she will be done her chemotherapy. Praise God for keeping CaCa well throughout her chemo treatment and thank God for all the love and support from all who loves her much. Let us continue to pray for Cassidy's recovery and especially her physiotherapies as she learns to walk better with her prosthesis. May we also remember to pray for CaCa to continue to adapt well to all new adjustments of her prosthesis as she continue to grow and learn to walk well.

As we count down to a brand new year, let us count all our heavenly blessings that God has poured onto us all in this past year and let us give our thanksgiving to our heavenly Father for keeping and blessing us throughout 2007. May we all grow spiritually and love God ever more in the coming new year that we live a more God glorifying life pleasing to our Lord Jesus Christ.

On behalf of our princess Cassidy, our prince Aaron, Mama Carmen and Papa Andy, Dr. Jesse wishes everyone a great, happy and healthy new year of 2008. May God's blessings be continue pouring onto you all and that our love for God and all others be overflowing all year through.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Praise The Lord! The Cliffwood Cookie Bash was a great success, thanks to many helps we got from great aunties, we got just enough cookies for everyone at Cliffwood and Mama Carmen joyfully brought them all to Cliffwood on Friday afternoon and joined the Cliffwood troops in their Christmas Concert. When everyone at Cliffwood heard that Mama Carmen brought homemade cookies for the whole school, every child applauded and cheered with glee. And we all sang We Wish You A Merry Christmas together to wish Cassidy and everyone in the world a Happy and Blessed Christmas. Cassidy's best friends from Cliffwood also presented to Mama Carmen a stack of Christmas cards her grade 2 class made for Cassidy and Cassidy was so thrilled to receive them when we brought them back to Bloorview for her. Cassidy also made a stack of Christmas cards for everyone in her grade 2 class but Mommy was too busy making sure about the cookies and forgot to bring Cassidy's cards to school. But she promised to put them by the door so she will remember to bring them the next time she visits Cliffwood in the New Year. Here are some pictures of the Cookies we brought to Cliffwood and Cassidy reading the nice Christmas Cards from her grade 2 friends.

Cassidy was surprised by a big party on Friday night at Bloorview. Just when she was getting ready to go home for Christmas, her friends and aunties and uncles from the Joshua fellowship came with pots and pans of yummy food to throw her a big Christmas party at Bloorview. She enjoyed the party so much and then so happily went home to spend Christmas with GorGor Aaron and Mommy and Daddy. Cassidy say Thank You to everyone who planned this big party for her, it makes a happy start for her Christmas week.

CaCa is now home to take a break from all treatments and needles. But she still has to practice on her own everyday wearing her new prosthesis. Let us pray for a few things in specific for Cassidy during this Christmas week. First, let us pray that Cassidy's body stays healthy and her blood level stays at good level so that she can fight off any minor germs that might get her sick.
Second, let us pray that Cassidy has a good appetite at home so that she gets to eat lots and lots of yummy treats and build up a much stronger body.
Third, let us pray for God to protect Cassidy and everyone around her from any bits of virus or sickness so that everyone can enjoy a great holiday with Cassidy.
Fourth, pray that Cassidy and everyone around her get to share the love and joy and peace from our God in heaven during this Christmas season so that everyone is reminded of the greatest love of eternal life God has prepared as gifts to everyone of us.

Cassidy says she can't wait to more parties next week, and she is especially excited about the surprised ones because it is fun not knowing when her friends will show up with cheers and food. And CaCa reminds everyone to remember to wear enough clothes so no one catches a cold and end up with a runny nose like she is. And she reminds every uncle and auntie to drive safely when they go to and from places in this holiday.

On behalf of CaCa, Aaron, Carmen and Andy, Dr. Jesse prays that may all blessings of Joy, Love and Peace from heaven above be poured onto you all and all your loved ones this Holy Christmas Season and Forever and ever. Amen.

Cliffwood...here we come!

Thanks to all your prayers, Cassidy was so happy yesterday that she could rush back in time for the afternoon Bloorview concert where she was one of the singers in the choir. CaCa says it was the best concert ever and Mama Carmen was very touched by the many kids who sang together in the choir. Both Cassidy and Mommy felt that although we had to suffer together over Cassidy's cancer, but we are so blessed that we still can move around, use our voice to sing, and stretch our arms to hug our mommies when there are so many kids who can only move with the help of a machine or they use all their strength but still cannot utter a sound to sing. Mama Carmen says we should all treasure all the gifts and our life that God has blessed us with and use them to glorify God. And we should also learn to love and appreciate the hard works of these children with disabilities. It may be easy to love them and care for them now when they are small children, but soon enough they will be grown ups and they will have to face high schools, universities and the working world on their own but there are the places where people neglect them and look down on them. Cassidy is praying that all kids will now learn to love people with disabilities and so they will grow up to be buddies with big people also with disabilities. May God bless the hearts of those who have a willing heart to love and care for people with special needs.

Cassidy has almost finished all the Thank You Cards and Christmas Cards and some of her gifts and cards have been delivered last night. Cassidy sends big Thanks to the Wismer Church, the BTBC English Congregation and the BTBC Choir who showed her so much love, sent her so much gifts and cards, visited her and prayed ever faithfully for her all these time. Cassidy says she wishes to see everybody soon when she's all better and can come to church again.

As we told you before, Mama Carmen is getting busy with making cookies for the troops at Cliffwood to thank them for their love and support to Cassidy and their family in the last many months. And also thanks to many nice ladies who offered to help with this big mission. As of the time we go to bed last night, we have finally finished all the cookie batches and are putting them in nice boxes to bring to Cliffwood with the DVD we made to celebrate the progress of Cassidy's battle with cancer. So Cliffwood, hang in there, we'll see you in a bit!
